SUMMER EMPLOYMENT AND INTERNSHIPS
Overview
Campus Kitchen stays open year-round thanks to summer service-learning courses, volunteers, and our fabulous staff! We have seasonal paid internships and an AmeriCorps VISTA Summer Associate positions available for students with prior Shift Leader experience. If you're willing to work hard, practice a wide range of skills, and make an unquestionably positive difference in the local food system, these roles may be for you!

Available Positions
Campus Kitchen Intern (Paid - Hourly)
Summer Interns sustain the operation and programming activities of Campus Kitchen by leading food recovery, meal planning, cooking, deliveries and gardening shifts, as well as contribute to team projects. Expect to do a little bit of everything Campus Kitchen!
Internships are 15 hours/week and interns are compensated at $10/hour for the 13-week summer semester. Position begins with training on May 13th, 2019 during business hours. Some evening and weekend work required.
All interns’ weekly schedules include morning, afternoon, evening and some weekend work, and are posted 2 weeks ahead of time. Work schedules can be flexible around extended vacations, traveling, or other employment with advance notice. May and August availability preferred.
Summer internships are exclusively open to UGA undergraduate students and spring/summer 2019 graduates with prior Campus Kitchen Shift Leader experience.

AmeriCorps VISTA Summer Associate (Paid - Stipend)
We have a unique professional opportunity for one individual with full-time availability between June and July. An AmeriCorps VISTA Summer Associate is a short-term, full-time (40 hours/week) service opportunity offered through the National Corporation for Community Service (CNCS). This position will follow a similar division of responsibilities to a part-time Campus Kitchen Summer Intern and will perform a combination of direct and indirect service around Campus Kitchen operations, programming, and recruitment.
The role will begin Monday, June 3rd and end Sunday, July 28th and serve a total of 320 hours. A typical Summer Associate schedule includes some afternoon, evening, and weekend work. Weekly schedules are posted 2 weeks ahead of time for all interns and staff. Note that this position is not compensated for, nor expected to work in the months of May or August.
This role is compensated a living allowance of $473.54 per biweekly pay period ($1026 per month) and your choice of a Summer Education Award of $1,289.95 or an end of service cash stipend of $276.64 at the conclusion of service.
